Position Highlights
POSITION SUMMARY: Prepares and cooks meals for patients, employees, and visitors working from established recipes, formulas and menu cycles. May have an assistant or helper. Confers with Dietary Director or Dietitian regarding food needs, modified diets, menu changes, etc. Operates commercial and large scale cooking equipment and appliances.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
a. Able to follow oral and written instructions and make independent decisions within scope of duties.
b. Experience as cook in hospital, nursing home, hotel, or restaurant preferred.
c. Must complete dietary safety orientation and quiz during orientation; Food Safety course immediately upon hire; Modified diets course within one month of hire date; and Serv Safe course within three months of hire date.
